Question. 3/23/1983 WPLW applies to move from 1590 to 660. 4/26/1983 Mike Horvath Applies for 1590 5KW North Huntington. Can Someone apply for a Signal Already in Use? [ Both got Turned Down by the way.]
The two applications were related... Horvath's North Huntington app was contingent on WZUM moving.
A similar plan a few years ago involved a frequency swap between 1360 and 910. In that case I believe the CPs were actually granted but the project was not completed.
WPLW also explored the possibility of moving to 890. However, the winter sign-on time would be quite late so they dropped it. I actually ran a radial for them and it would have worked.

The CP was Granted 10/2/1986. The Transmitter site was McDowell Road in Cannonsburg, But their was a Problem with that site. so A Site in Peters TWP was Found, But Again Problems. The Call letters were WGPL Owned by Carl C Auel of Herminie Pa. It was Never Built.
