Found myself tuning around while in the car the other afternoon and I was surprised at the signal 1600/WAMS has in Newark.

While the signal quality is such that only a radio geek would listen, it is there. Even after the station went to 5kw many years ago, you could not pick it up north of Middletown. So it is good to be able to hear it now that 1260 is gone.

BTW, the the cover of yesterday's News Journal sports page, there was a big headline on the Delaware State playoff game proclaiming it would be heard on WAMS/1260 and WRJE/1600. I would have thought someone at the station would have sent the paper correct info before the games began. 1600 is now WAMS and 1260 is gone for awhile.

WAMS 1260 no longer exists. 1600 in Dover is WAMS and also the source for the internet stream. 1260 Newark is now WNWK and is off the air.
