I was traveling on I-190 north last night. The southbound north Grand Island bridge was closed with traffic diverted to the northbound side, one lane each direction with backups onto the island.

I purposely put on 1630 AM to check before I went on the island, and there was no word of construction.

I wonder if this is why people stay off the AM dial?

Taxpayer dollars at work.

Oh? Couldn't get your traffic and weather together on the nines from Buffalo's news leader? People under 50 stay off the AM dial because with the exception of right wing loon talk, there's no reason to listen. BTW, there are plenty of good apps for traffic if you have one of those newfangled smarty phones.

That's asinine. I didn't need to listen to any other station except for the station that I am paying tax dollars or tolls to operate to give me traffic conditions repeated every 30 seconds.

I'm way under 50 and stay off the FM dial as much as possible. There is just no reason to listen. AM has the news, music, supposed to have traffic conditions (although the FM "news" station didn't have it either, I'm sure), sports talk and games, and anything else you want to hear.
