HARVEY CEDARS - For the first time, a radio station will be broadcasting from Long Beach Island offering listeners up-to-date and accurate information on weather, traffic and emergencies.
The station, which will broadcast from a mobile trailer behind the public works yard on West Salem Avenue in the borough, is expected to be operational for the first time in May.
(edited some stuff here)
The station, which is yet to be licenced by the Federal Communications Commission, will most likely tuned to AM station 1630 and run on a continuous 7-second loop, Preiser said.
(edited some more stuff here)
The station will also broadcast the latest weather information courtesy of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.
