1690 Adding late 60's???

Well, the station owners (CC) don't care that much about your personal tastes. Adding in more post 1964 tunes can help the station more, especially since the format just isn't selling right now. Also, WJMK is gone, so its ok to sprinkle in some more post '64 songs.<P ID="signature">______________

It's not about my personal tastes. I'm asking.........do YOU think former WJMK listeners will want to hear Steppenwolf in mono, played back-to-back with Annette?

Steppenwolf followed by Annette isn't exactly my cup of tea either, but I'd rather hear that than all the Sinatra and other standards played before. Regarding the stereo vs. mono issue, oldies is one format I could still see getting some ratings on AM. No, 1690 isn't going to get a 3 share like WJMK did, but they could get a little bit of that audience. People originally listened to the music in AM mono when it was new. So, even though people have heard the music in stereo for so long, they would still probably put up with the AM sound. Also, some people don't want to spend the money for satellite or an ipod, so radio is still a viable option for oldies. I would think people would listen to AM oldies for free if they don't want to spend the money for the other services available.
