1690 in Chanhassen, MN

Does anyone know anything about a station I hear intermittantly on 1690 in the Chanhassen/Chaska/Minnetonka, MN area? It comes on very sporadically, and always transmits internet feeds of talk shows, and recently, WRLL in Chicago.

The reason I'm interested is that I have been operating a Part 15 24/7 on 1690 in Chaska since 1999, and when this thing comes on it wipes out some of my fringe coverage.

I'm using an old homebuilt tube TX which only gets 2 or 3 blocks of coverage, but sounds great with CRL processing. It's xtal controlled, hits 125% positive modulation, and sounds like FM on a GE Superradio. I was hoping to get a Rangemaster this year to increase the coverage, but with this mystery station on the same freq, probably not. My liners and logos all refer to 1690 so I don't want to change them for a station which is only on the air occasionally. Today they came on around 4 PM with WRLL, and went off around 4:20.

If this is part 15, they have a great setup, because I can hear them from Shakopee to Minnetonka, probably 10 mi. I have NEVER heard any local programming or IDs.

Wonder if WRLL/Clear Channel would be interested in this?

I know of this part 15 station and do hear it often. I can give
you some additional details off line if you want. Let me know your
email address.

Next time you hear them, you should be able to track them down within a couple of hours tops, if they are part fifteen compliant.<P ID="signature">______________
