1690 WVON

I do wonder what Clear Channel is gaining by leaving RealOldies on line.

Re: 1690 WVON/oldradiosRcool

[EDIT]

[EDIT]

"Their clientele"? What does that mean?

This station has been profitable. It owns its audience. It has one of the highest time spent listening in the city.

[EDIT]

[EDIT-inflammatory]

I wouldn't worry about this new radio station. All things considered, do you think their clientel have the money to pay for advertising? I give it less than a year.

Let me see if I understand this one....

You're looking at one of the most successful and storied brands in the market....now with an improved signal and expanded hours of operation....and giving it less than a year? As for your comment about their "clientel" (sic), no one can predict the future, but history strongly suggests otherwise.

I concur with cyberdad.

Just like wgn , wbbm, wfmt (short list, isn't it?) EVERYad buyer who is over 18 years old KNOWS what WVON is, and WHO and HOW WELL it reaches its "clientele" (not misspelled).

From repping some SMALL stations, I can't stress the importance of just THAT.

The future of this format on this frequency is very bright.

And I concur with THAT! (Not to mention I also concur the removal of the inflamatory post...misspellings and all!)

I know that car radios are up to speed but a lot of radios in the homes do not have the 1690 frequency believe
it or not. That may not seem like a big deal but maybe that's why Real Oldies did not fare as well as they
would have liked.
And I have listened to Cliff Kelley's show for years and there definitely is a reverse racism tone to his show. Just my
opinion.
Well they can buy a new HD radio. I'm kidding. A new survey is out: Adults don't know what HD radio is.

Please tell me where I can find this survey, as I am an adult, and I knew all about HD radio months ago and was ready to buy one just so I could enjoy RealOldies and the CC leased the station to WVON and now I've given up on radio, HD or otherwise, but please, point me to that study. Thank you
