1700 khz AM

WRCR AM radio on 1700khz-Pomona/Ramapo New York in Rockland county,NY.
Saturday morning,August 29th-Between 7:00 AM until 7:15 AM.
Reception in southern York county,Pa along interstate 83 near the Pa/MD border.
Signal was quite good for the most part !

Day power? A lot of the X banders benefit from skywave for at least an hour or two after sunrise and/or before sunset.

There are now a few that run 10000 watts directional at night, and send their signals into the ocean. If those are on STA, they might be running 2500 watts nondirectional at night. Have to look at which stations those are and what frequencies. But you are right about critical hours and daytime skywave. They act like MW SW stations more than AM BC at times.

I get WRCR regularly now in Va (from sunset on into the night), but they fight with WJCC (at 800 miles)
