WJRG is a Part 15 station, using an AM1000 Rangemaster Transmitter. It *IS* FCC Certified as Part 15.

It is OK fror part 15 srarions to choose vanity call letters as WJRG-AM has done, as long as there's NO other station close by with the same or similar call letters.
Learn something about Part 15 before you speak.. and let the kids have fun!
Re-read Cowabunga. And YOU learn a few things.
Cowabunga is wrong - sorry.
About what? Vanity calls are a matter of public record! Part 96 of Title 47. There is also no provision in the rules for call letters for Part 15 operation. You must prove that your signal level does not exceed the Part 15 restrictions. Who was the engineer that took those measurements? Where's the proof? How about your antenna? Does that meet Part 15 standards? This too is part of the public record. I have over 25 years in radio and about as many years as a broadcast educator on the college level and I make my living in the business. As far as your claim to be training kids to be broadcasters, It's no wonder the school will have nothing to do with this effort. Based on what I read here this is a classic case of Pirate Broadcasting. Are you teaching and supporting illegal activities? According to the FCC Field office in Buffalo (those are the folks that cover the Binghamton Region for inspections and complaints) "There is no such thing as a legal low power FM station" unless it's licensed as an LP-100. You folks might try applying for an LP-10 license if the window ever opens. Good luck!
