1960s-70s CBS movie theme melody question

...this is a 1974 version of the theme. CBS used it for not only its network movies, but also the local Best of CBS movies on WBBM-TV/2 Chicago, and probably the rest of the O&Os as well. Was this tune copyrighted under a proper title that anyone knows of? Or was it simply "The CBS Movie Theme" or some similar generic reference?...

One of those questions that always rattled around in the head but I didn't know exactly who to ask. ;-) Now, anyone have the dope on what this march http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EwSBQ6uOQhs that CBS used for its '60s and '70s NFL telecasts was titled? Probably something like "CBS NFL Theme" or a similarly nondescript monicker? ;-) ...
 
I think the CBS NFL theme you're referring to was called "Competition."
It was quite popular, as I recall; my high-school band was known to play
it at halftime. Sure beats the heck out of the thing CBS uses now on NFL
games.

Also beats the heck out of the thing the Eye uses on it's CFB telecasts.

Anyone know if "Confidence" had/has lyrics, and who composed it?
