1966 NBA Finals on NBA TV

NBA TV had game 7 of the 1966 NBA Finals on the other night. (Lakers vs. Celtics at the Boston Garden) I never knew that there was a tape of this game around. From what I've been able to find on the internet it was from WKBG Channel 56. It had Don Gillis and Tom Heinsohn on the broadcast.
All NBA TV showed was part of the 1st and part of the 4th quarters. The quality of the 66 game was pretty good. Interesting to see no graphics or replays. It would be nice if they showed more games from the 60s or early 70s.

I kinow last year they showed an early CBS game from 1974 between the Buffalo Braves and the Cleveland Cavaliers from the Richfield Coliseum. They also have had Knicks-Lakers finals games from 1970 and 1973..(The 1970 final I remember watching the original broadcast on ABC)..They also have a few All-Star Games from the early seventies.

Portions of the final game of the 1971 NBA Finals between Milwaukee and Baltimore from ABC-TV gets shown alot. The Bucks swept the Bullets in four straight to win the title. The announcers were Chris Schenkel and Jack Twyman.

Gee, can't they show a Final that the Lakers actually won? Like maybe 1972 against the same Knicks? Are they trying to tell us something? ???

I hope they show the 1971 All Star Game at San Diego, which was the last season of the San Diego Rockets before they moved to Houston. I was there. Arguably the greatest collection of basketball talent on one court, ever. Certainly one of the greatest. :)
