1968 Ad for top 40 WSRF (1580) Fort Lauderdale

1968 Ad for top 40 WSRF (1580) Fort Lauderdale
« on: February 09, 2006, 06:41:41 PM » Quote

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Just found a full-page 1968 WSRF ad
from the Miami Herald that I
tore out ... well 38 years ago!

I was afraid I didn't have it any more!

It also mentions WSRF-FM on 103.5....
predecessor of today's WMIB-FM.

It lists:

SURF JOCKEYS
DICK VANCE
TED SHANNON
BOBBI BARTER
MIKE ZEALY
JOHNNY NITE
TOMMY JUDGE
DOLLY HOLIDAY (How could I forget her?)

About 2/3 of the page is a drawing of a guy
on a surfboard!

When I get a chance, I will scan it and add
it to South Florida Radio History.

73s from 954

Hey 954 do you still have that ad. I would love to see it.

How good are you with the history of radio stations in Ft. Lauderdale? I need some help.

Thanks

T.J.

BOBBI BARTER

Didn't she work together with Teddi Trade at one time?

Reminds me of the old radio joke.

Receptionist (to arriving PD): Bill, the sales manager, was held up last night!

PD: No s--t! Is he OK?

Receptionist: Yes, he's fine but the thief took $200 in cash and $500 in trade.
