1971 Emergency Broadcast System Fail WOWO-AM

I felt so sorry for this guy having to vamp for seven minutes while he tried to figure out
if The Big One had just been dropped.

I think that is what inspired this centralized EAS system they tried to test today.
 
On this aircheck, the 12:30 P.M. (CST) WCCO news begins with a sounder that had been used by CBS Radio for their on-the-hour newscasts for most of the 1960's (the sounder was replaced in 1968).
