1980s WMWM DJ to donate kidney (via Ch 7)

Joe DeFranco of Peabody was at WMWM in the early 80s (when I started) as a DJ and also program
director. A Ch 7 report says that Joe, now a Peabody fire inspector, is donating a kidney to a 29
year old teacher
who really needs it (she has to do dialysis nine hours a day)

Good work Joe! Joe used to do station IDs as a character called Hank the Engineer ("Hi-yo, everyone,
Hank the Engineer here. Listen, it's been brought to my regression that some o' you aren't listenin'...")

The City of Peabody voted to re-imburse Joe for the six weeks or so that he'll need to recover from
the donation...
