1983 WEBN Fools Parade

You're welcome. I have about 3 more hours of this day on reel, but it's not scoped yet. When I get a chance, I'll post the rest. I was in junior high when I heard my first Fools Parade in 1981, and was hooked.

That was a fun time although I have to say Jay Gilbert is a little long in the tooth to be doing rock radio these days.

The hippie era is gone!

I've always thought that Jay has pictures of his bosses that their mother wouldn't approve of, and that's how he's stuck around for so long.

Well that was eye opening,,,Hearing "Lunch with Luzack" and Jay again in the prime of their careers was not only a trip (snort, snort) back to the "BRUTE FORCE" heyday , but a also a bitter sweet reminder of how good it use to be. I'm a motorhead by trade/obsession. Back in the day, I paid a guy named Dauber to hand-stripe and letter my racecar solely on the strenght of his workmanship "HAND-LETTERING the names of all the airstaff on the Erie Ave. door to the studio. GOD BLESS Ty Williams for keeping me sane throughout the late 80's...

Does anyone have any air checks from the early EBN? I'm talking about the days of Bo, Ginger, Jeff, and Denton. Would love to hear any you might be able to post. Thanks!

Thanks!!! If anyone has any additional tapes from the early days please post!!

Thanks for posting these, some great memories, even the little pieces of old songs and commercials.

It's kind of surprising how much of the stuff isn't all that funny. I'm not sure if its that its so dated, or what. Anybody else think that for all of WEBN's reputation from back then, that this material isn't really that special?

And about the comments about Jay Gilbert, yeah, he's been there forever, but does he sound out of place or tired or like he doesn't care? I'm just saying that the comments are only about how old he is and not about whether he's still doing a decent job.
