1985 La Crosse, WI top 40 war

I just dug out this long forgotten tape from a box last night. Here is a short aircheck that captures the battle between La Crosse top 40s Magic Z93 and Hit 105 WLXR in the summer of 1985. It was taped in the 1 AM hour and both stations had live DJs on the air (it was truly a different er...a). It was 100,000 watt Z93 vs. 3,000 watt pipsqueak WLXR but I thought Hit 105 sounded much hotter. To pick up WLXR 120 miles away in Madison as heard on this tape, the weather conditions had to be just right!

Don't you have full length airchecks?

Not of these stations unfortunately. I am lucky to have this much actually.
