1985 panasonic VCR tuning

I have a 1985 Panasonic VCR that I have not used since almost 10 years. I am having trouble tuning in cable stations above channel 40. It has three buttons to tune in cable channels manualy. Band selects the band, tune up, and tune down tunes in the stations you want. Some cable channels are on the VHF and some on the VLF band. So how do I tune the cable channels above channel 40? Above the channel display when you are in tuning mode it has the band VHF, VLF, and UHF with bars that that show where in the band you are. Anyone who knows a little about this topic and could help is greatly appriciated

Thanks

Chances are the cable tuning on a 1985 VCR stops at cable channel 40. Keep in mind 21 years ago very few systems had more than 40 channels.

There is one way to cheat, Cable Channel 65 and beyond use broadcast UHF frequencies. If you hook the cable to the UHF antenna inputs you'll receive Channel 65 on UHF 14, Channel 66 on UHF 15 and so forth. <P ID="signature">______________

Your right I had forgotten that trick
Mine only goes up to channel 99 and that is all I need

I have the band selector so I can sitch from band to band.
I also have it connected to a cable ready TV but thought it might be cool to tune it and be able to view all the cable channels on it on that old of a VCR.
I remember as a little kid meesing around with it and pushing buttons, than of course my parents would get on to me, since it was up in the living room.

Thanks again
