1989 WTFM "Love Notes" aircheck

I have just posted a cassette tape with nearly an hour of WTFM "Love Notes" with Elva Marie from 1989 on the "Radio Stuff: Various" page of my website!

What the heck happened?!? Did they not get anymore calls, or did carrying "Delilah" seem like a more lucrative decision (aka "progress")? Both, probably?

Whatever the reasons, another neat kind of local radio show is dearly missed, and remembered.

I feel it was more of a financial decision for WTFM...after the decision was made to move Elva to middays.

Elva, Reggie Neel, and Jeri George are ALL institutions in Tri-Cities radio. They have all been at WTFM, WXBQ and WQUT respectively for at least 25 years...or longer. In 83-84 when I was a senior in high school, I was doing weekends at WKPT/WTFM, and that's been 28 years, and Elva was there then. I spoke with Reggie recently and he told me he's been hanging out with the Rabbit for 31 years now...and Jeri has been at QUT since 1983, so that's 28 years. In such an unstable business, I have a TON of respect of all three of them for being in Tri-Cities radio that long.
