1991 Aircheck Help. WZAZ - AM * and * FM?

I have an aircheck of WZAZ labled 92.7 Jacksonville, FL (thanks RadioSanchez from years ago). Did 92.7 WZAZ Green Cove Springs simulcast with 1400 WZAZ at the time?? Interesting sounding DJ [The Pressure Cooker]; Urban Contemporary, I believe... Shotgun Legal ID jingle sings "WZAZ... Jacksonville", and I'd imagine that the correct ID would of been WZAZ (-FM if simulcast on WZAZ 1400 Jax) Green Cove Springs... I skimmed the legal ID for my collection.

Would this correctly be labled "92.7 WZAZ-FM Green Cove Springs, FL"? If it was recorded on a really good AM stereo reciever, then I'd be convinced that it was from 1400, but in the breaks they only mention a 92 point 7 freq.

Surely someone's been around back then...

I have this aircheck too. It's my understanding that 92.7 and 1400 had different programming at that time and the programming on this aircheck aired only on the 92.7 frequency. It's been a long time since I played the tape, but if that's what the legal ID said, then it should have been "WZAZ-FM Green Cove Springs."

Sometimes stations will give a "fake" legal ID just to make it sound good. In Tampa in the early '90s, we had a station that would give their TOH ID loud and proud as "WMTX-FM & AM Tampa Bay!" but they would hide their real ID in a stopset just a few minutes eariler as "WMTX-FM Clearwater, WMTX-AM Pinellas Park"
