1st half hour of the Opry.

They have, at least the last 2 weeks, cut off the first segment that preceded the GAC telecast, which isn't live too much anymore by the way. That segment was almost always hosted by Little Jimmy Dickens and I miss it. Also people going to the first show get shortchange because the second show is still the same as before, 2-1/2 hours. Wonder if Jimmy is getting "Stonewalled"? :(

Just heard from Chubby Howard's show that Jimmy Dickens is in a hospital, lost a lot of weight, but not a lot of details. Don't know if that is why they dropped his segment.

2 weeks ago, the Opry changed the start time of the Saturday Grand Ole Opry. It used to start at 6:30. It now starts at 7. The first show now runs from 7-9, with the 2nd show running from 9:30-11:30. The 2nd show had been a 2 hour show for quite a while. Regarding Jimmy Dickens; yes, he was hospitalized but went home toward the end of last week. A person who knows Jimmy said that he is feeling better, but was going to take a few weeks off before returning to the Opry. When he does return, he will be given another time slot, probably the 8pm slot. He will still host the 9:30 slot during the 2nd show.

Thanks for the info, and also for correcting my idea about the second show run time.

Now let's see if Mickey's little hand is on 11 and his big hand is on 6, what time is it? ::)
