2 1/2 Men Ratings Continue To Drop

I thought I was the only one, who thought, Kutcher was doing a remake of his Kelso character.

I'm not surprised to see the show go on. After all CBS pretty much owned Monday nights since "I Love Lucy"
He does remind me of Kelso in some ways, and that's a good thing.

I wonder if Mila Kunis will make a guest appearance? Or better yet, Danny Masterson.

And once again, the year-over-year ratings show an increase (and this was on Halloween night, vs. the day after Halloween the year before).

Actually I just watched a few more episodes I recorded and Kutcher is doing a pretty good job playing a "Gracie Allen" type character. True it's a rehash of Kelso, but it's hard to play a bit of a scatterbrain without coming off as "plain old dumb" as Suzanne Somers's - Chrissie, Beth Howland's - Vera or Betty White's - Rose did.

It really has evolved into a different show. It's kind of like when Ann Sothern got into a dispute with "Private Secretary" producers and basically took the whole cast and put them in a new show. Or when Andy Griffith transformed into Mayberry RFD.

The only thing that really bugs me is the way the characters don't seem to show any concern or care over Charlie. I know the show was never big on sentiment but his death is coming off as way too callous from Alan, Berta and his mother.

Over time, I don't think it'll play well. It's like on Petticoat Junction when Bea Benaderet died and they sent Kate Bradley away with a toss away line, "she's traveling" and it was if she never existed anymore. It seems crude to treat a major character.

It's one thing like with Floyd on Andy Griffith, they could toss that character away, as it was a featured player and not a major character.

I think they need an episode to address this.

Last Monday's episode was the best of the new season AFAIAC but Kutcher remains the dull, stupid character he always is. And it is disappointing to me to see how dumbed-down the writers have made Berta. She was always delivering a sharp retort to Charlie and Zippy and now she looks like background with a frozen smile on her face.

Yup. The focus has been primarily on Kutcher and his bank account and penis size. That is getting real old!

I think all you're going to see in the way of "care" for Charlie is what's already been shown. They trashed him pretty good at his opening-episode funeral and added to it this past week. If you've been a long-time viewer of the show you already know that everyone, including Jake, expected Charlie to succumb long ago to a list of heavy drinker ailments. And everyone also knew that Rose was unbalanced so the outcome wasn't unexpected. I'm pretty sure Lorre had much more negativity in mind but was probably overridden in the interest of not focusing upon Charlie's departure. Big egos crash hard so I'm told.

I hand't noticed but if that's true it's not good.

I like the Walden version of Kelso.

I did think they messed up going to a commercial when they did. A joke fell flat and then it was "Meeeen."
