2 AC Stations in the same market

Are there any cities left that have two adult contempoary stations. I know that New York City has 102.7 Fresh Fm and 106.7 Lite FM same as Chicago 93.9 Lite fm and 105.1 Fresh FM. Any others?

WWFS and WCFS are more hot-AC based, so I don't know if they can be compared very much, but would share a good bit of listeners I guess.

Charlotte - WKQC (K104.7, CBS), WLYT (Lite 102.9, Clear Channel) - both are traditional sounding AC stations
Greenville, SC - WMYI (MY102.5, Clear Channel), WSPA (Magic 98.9, Entercom)
Virginia Beach, VA - WVBW (929 The Wave), WWDE (101.32WD, Entercom)

Mobile/Pensacola--WMEZ 94.1 and WMXC 99.9
Huntsville--WRSA 96.9 and WAHR 99.1
Little Rock--KOLL 106.3 and KURB 98.5 (though I consider them a borderline hot AC)

I don't know about Fresh in New York, but I've always considered Fresh in Chicago as hot AC.

IMO, all of the "Fresh FM" stations are Hot AC's.
Actually, WLTJ/Pittsburgh is a Hot AC now.

Kansas City, MO - 98.1 KUDL and Star 102
Savannah, GA - 98.7 The River and Sunny 107.9 (Sunny is mostly gold material)
Detroit - Magic 105.1 and 100.3 WNIC

In the early to mid '90s, NYC had three AC stations: "Today's 93.1" WPAT-FM, "Mix 105" 105.1 WMXV, and "Lite FM" 106.7 WLTW. (Four, if you count WPAT's simulcast on AM Stereo 930 WPAT.)

Meaning loud. WLYT has turned down the volume at least a little. WKQC is pretty soft during the workday compared to other ACs of today.

I don't know if Wilmington, NC would count. WILT is mainstream but WGNI is somewhere between mainstream and hot.

Grand Rapids, Michigan, has three AC stations:

95.7 WLHT (although it's kind of like Hot AC)
100.5 WTRV (mainstream but a tad bit on the soft side of AC)
105.7 WOOD (mainstream AC with a bit of a fresher, younger sound)

Many years ago Pittsburgh had 4 at once.

WPNT 92.9 (now Hot AC WLTJ)
WWSW 94.5
WFFM 96.9
WCLR 100.7

They are all gone now and are something else.

In Pennsylvania, the York/Lancaster area has two AC stations: WARM and WROZ. WARM is actually licensed to York and WROZ is licensed to Lancaster, but both transmitters are located between the 2 cities, and therefore both signals can be received very clearly in both cities. In fact, both signals are typically strong in Harrisburg as well.

There is nothing wrong with having 2 AC stations. The problem is that pretty much any song played on WARM can be heard on WROZ, not to mention that WARM's entire playlist is tired and boring!!! And while WROZ has a larger playlist than WARM, most of the "extra" stuff they play is just ear-splitting noise. So it's really a lose-lose situation for anyone who appreciates quality AC music.

WDUV isn't AC. No one knows just what it is.

Actually Tampa has 4 if you count WSJT 's new Smooth format which is sort of a softer aproach to Urban and Modern AC. I'd call WDUV a gold-based AC as most of their playlist includes the core artists of AC stations back in the Eighties. Just add jocks and jingles and it could be WEZS or WEZC from the "glory years" with some musical exceptions obviously. Lots of Bread, Air supply, Billy Joel, Dan Fogelberg, John Denver, etc.
