2 broadcasts of KLTY?

This morning I was hearing KLTY like usual through tropos in the north Houston area. But what was unusual was I heard a 2nd KLTY that was about a second or 2 behind depending on where I moved my antenna. It almost seems like they have an Auxiliary and the main on at the same time. But it looks like their auxiliary is from the same location. Anyone especially in the fringe area noticing this?

Are they doing that on purpose or is it a technical issue? Sometimes stations use repeaters on purpose to add to their coverage area.

KLTY has no booster, and the one translator attached to it runs Spanish religious programming. Not sure what HTX was hearing. My check has KLTY sounding as it usually does.

Could have been going back and forth between analog/HD. I’ve heard a station sound like that when the analog delay wasn’t locked with the main HD.

KLTY usually plays songs like The Goodness, Same God, Voice of Truth etc. but to hear the same station on two stations by mistake is wierd.

I have never received their HD in the greater Houston area. It was definitely 2 analog signals out of sync. At least 1 of them had RDS.

I’ll send you a video.

Got it, and as you said, it's not toggling between HD and analog. It actually sounds like two different signals, one slightly delayed. Someone on the engineering side would have to chime in on this one because I am stumped.

It definitely seems like an AUX transmitter was on at the same time as the main. But if that was the case, wouldn’t more people within the Dallas area have noticed? Maybe it only happened that overnight I heard it so nobody was really listening?

Aux is not in the same location as the main. There is a difference in the coordinates. If it was late night / early morning, someone may have been doing maintenance at one site or the other and accidentally had both up and running.

My bad. I didn't look too close at the locations. But it was a bit after 4 AM I heard it.
