2 hit wonder weekend on wcbsfm

:) I am really enjoying this this is Awesome :) I am hearing songs I hardly ever hear on wcbsfm, like spencer davis group yesterday, "gimmie some lovin" I hear, but "Im a man" hardly ever. good weekend wcbsfm!! I been very pleased so far :) thanks

I remember how sad you were several months back over the new things they were trying. Aren't you glad you stayed tuned in?

Ironically, the last time I remember hearing a lot of complaints about CBS-FM was during a previous "Two Hit Wonder" weekend, where they played Tone Loc's two hits. They did play those songs again this past weekend, but I guess it's old news now. Even as someone who is all for progression on this station, I do have to admit that playing Tone Loc or any other rapper is taking it a bit too far. But hey, it's just one artist that only occasionally gets played during specialty features. I can deal with that.

I'm going to call my shot and assume CBS-FM played Wang Chung's "Everybody Have Fun Tonight" and "Dance Hall Days" this weekend.

And now, I'm going to check Yes.com...

Well, they never did play the above artists/songs this weekend, though I was surprised to see them play Dead Or Alive's "You Spin Me" and "Brand New Lover" on Friday in the 5 PM hour.

Oh, well, maybe next year...

For the record, the aforementioned Tone Loc double-play reared its ugly head on Friday in the 11 PM hour. Incidentally, I believe these songs played on Friday in the 5 PM hour the last time they did this theme weekend.

Yeah, I'm the same way - true blue loyal to what I want, hangin' on in there.

Nope, because he has at least a couple more hits, more or less, in his resume, apparently... "Wonderful" and "Room At The Top" come to mind...

"Room At The Top" peaked nationally at #39 and lasted two weeks- I'd hardly call that a hit

"Ant Music" and "Stand And Deliver" did alright, but that was as Adam & the Ants...
but you're right, those other two were played on Z100, making them NY records, especially "Wonderful" stuck around, I forgot about that...

And granted, CBS-FM doesn't play any 90's songs yet, at least in regular rotation...
