2 Last Minute Changes on ME-TV and Antenna TV

ME-TV and Antenna TV have made last minute programming changes.

Antenna TV replaced WKRP in the 7PM Eastern Time-Slot Monday-Friday with Sanford and Son as of Monday March 2nd. WKRP will now air Sundays 10PM-1AM Eastern. (It had already been airing 12AM-1AM).

Starting this Monday March 9th Star Trek replaces The Adventures of Superman on ME-TV in the 4PM Eastern Time-Slot Monday-Friday. Star Trek will continue to air episodes in order in the Saturday Night Time Slot, but the episodes airing in the 4PM Monday-Friday Time Slot will begin with episode 1 and run in order.

Antenna TV will also be adding The Jefferson's sometime in April when they release their Spring Schedule.

i sure will miss Superman being on at 4pm 4:30pm i thought it was doing well on that Time-Slot

I thought Superman was doing good on the 4pm and 4:30pm time-slot

And it's not just star trek replacing Superman

Shows being removed

Mary Tyler Moore Show replaced by Andy Griffith show or Mayberry RFD depending on your area 8am and 8:30am while still being on at 8pm and 8:30pm

That Girl being replaced by The Donna Reed Show which will go back to 7am

Car 54 and Gomer Pyle USMC return to the line-up as well.

Currently, the Decades network is running Gomer Pyle as it's current "binge" show. Decades has been binging shows all year. I don't know if that's their format or if they are eventually going to run all their shows like most networks.

Why did they drop Mary Tyler Moore? I've been enjoying it. It's only been on a couple of months and why did they replace it with two additional episodes of Andy Griffith? The Danny Thomas show ran until 1964,but all we are seeing are episodes up till 1962.

If you had checked their website you would have been able to answer your own question. Decades is in "binge" mode until the network formally launches on Memorial Day. They even have been including language in their on-air promos to that effect.

Is it possible that they made the decision to air Star Trek on weekdays due to the passing of the venerable Leonard Nimoy? The passing of "Spock" came as a surprise to me.

As someone who never really watched sci-fi tv shows, I am going to try to catch Star Trek now since they are starting with the first season. Maybe I will find I like the show. Perhaps this, along with renewed interested to loyal Star Trek fans made sense at this time, even if Superman was doing well?

I am seeing eye to eye with those who like Mary Tyler Moore in the morning. I have not watched the show in years and was enjoying it. I do like Andy Griffith, however I have seen most episodes many times and it is still on at night. I don't understand this change. I suppose the people in charge must have seen ratings they felt were not as good as they expected and that was the reason for the change.

I've noticed that some shows just go away for a while for no reason that I can see. From what I've been told, that many times has to do with the syndication companies that own these shows, pulling the permission to run the show for various reasons, with the TV network itself having little to say about it.

This may or may not be true, I'm just going by what I have been told. I'm sure most people here know more on these things than me

For God's sake, Nimoy was 83 and suffering from cancer.....(he joked about it years ago after being diagnosed because he was a heavy smoker in his early years but gave it up by the time he was 30 or so...I smoked from 15 to 26 but was a light smoker, went cold turkey in one week and luckily still have good lung functions...)

Jimmy Doohan passed in his early 80s...so did DeForest Kelly........(IRONIC, their ST characters made it to the 24th century!)

Kelly was the oldest of the group (he was in his early 40s as Bones!)...Doohan was second in age....Shaner is also 83 but seems to be in good shape and probably will be around for a few more years...

But considering the average life expectancy of a male in the US in around 78-80 years of age, Nimoy did pretty good....shame he died in pain (He suffered a massive heart attack before being taken to the hospital where he passed)...

We are all getting older and closer to death...some faster than others....(My mom made it to 90....I had a good friend who at age 90 looked like he did at age 60 and his mind was still as sharp as a tack...he made it to 95 but his insides finally gave out....the human body has not gotten to the point where all the parts can be refurbed or changed like a car!...maybe one day)

I just found the Decades website while researching the Spring schedules for Cozi, Retro, MeTV, Antenna TV, and H&I. Based on the binge shows, I don't have hope for them being around for long. For example, in my entire life, I have never seen a "classics" oriented network run "Celebrity Bowling" WTH! I would expect that on a low level ESPN or a game show network like Buzzr [soon to air on Fox O&Os].

The only good thing about seeing that show was being reminded of how PC TV has become. I wasn't surprised when they only showed Stu from the waist up, to hide the pin in his pants, but surprised they aired the crack about the black ball knocking down the white pin! That would NEVER make it to air these days.

Here's hoping that they invest some money in finding better programming for after Memorial Day.

I can't speak for other cities, but in Philly, the 5am to 8am shows are usually pre-empted for infomercials, so if enough cities do it, that could explain the lower than expected ratings.

The same in Bridgeport, CT on WZME 43.1 6AM-9AM. And probably the same 5AM-8AM in NYC as the NYC affiliate is a sister station to Channel 2 in Philly.

We have two Me-TV affiliates here in the Los Angeles area--KVME 20.1 and KDOC 56.3. The KVME version, just like in Philly and NYC, doesn't clear most of the early morning shows either. The KDOC feed carries everything intact, with the exception of "I Love Lucy" being replaced by "The Lucy Show" (the Fox duopoly in town owns the rights to "I Love Lucy"). Technically, I guess you could say that we have a third Me-TV channel, as our local Time Warner system carries only the national feed (timeshifted for the West Coast).

Also on a sidenote, I just now noticed that Me-TV is streaming selected episodes of a few shows on their website (notably, "The Rifleman", "The Lucy Show", "The Donna Reed Show" among others).

While the FOX KTTV/KCOP duopoly holds the local syndication rights to I Love Lucy in Los Angeles and have held them for several decades, I noticed recently that when the Decades subchannel (on CBS O&O KCBS) ran through the binge programming of I Love Lucy, ALL episodes were shown unopposed or blocked as they usually are on KDOC's ME-Tv feed. Either KTTV/KCOP didn't challenge or likely didn't know this happened or CBS' Decades subchannel has different set of broadcasting right terms that allowed it to occur.

In the same vein, Decades all ready ran a Donna Reed Show binge and soon The Twilight Zone is coming in a few weeks. There's 3 shows ME-TV has rights too and also ME offers select Celebrity Bowling episodes via stream on their website.

Decades may be in stunt programming mode right now before it's official launch around Memorial Day but the shows they are stunting with are right in ME-TVs wheelhouse. This new subchannel from CBS could become a thorn in ME-TVs side if the shows pan out to be similar or exactly the same.

Decades is a joint venture between CBS and Weigel. Weigel being ME-TV's parent company.

I meant to add but forgot, at the last hamfest I saw my 90yr old friend, he stood up at a QCWA meeting to talk about the old days..and another friend (a former CE/boss and coworker) looked at me and said "I figured out WHY Phil does not age!!.....He is a member of the Q!" (appropriate ST connection! :) )

Star Trek can probably deliver a larger audience than Superman. Now, in many markets Star Trek is already seen, I wonder if they will replace it with Superman OR just be like the other syndicated shows which are seen on multiple channels.

The Tallahassee MeTV station runs Donna Reed at 8 am and That Girl at 8:30, though it runs promos for the Andy airings at 8 am.

The promos are sent as part of the network feed and run on all stations unless they are scheduled in a pre-emptible local commercial slot. That is why there is a fine print disclaimer on all the promos which says "available on most MeTV stations".

Yeah That girl still airs in Tallahassee. and if you're in Jacksonville the ME-TV over there also airs That Girl. So that means another local jacksonville station has the rights to andy griffith show. And i must say I really like that they don't have any annoying repeated no text while driving tv ads and food safety and baby car seat commercials on jacksonville's me-tv
