2 late night questions

Is it possible that Conan's handling of his situation with the constant barrage of vitriolic statements might make him too radioactive for anyone to touch for a while in an on air role? I am not saying forever but wouldn't it give management (even at Fox) a thought to maybe say we need to back off this guy for a while?

Having never worked in television anywhere, I was a little surprised at the sheer volume of the staffs of Leno and Conan. Leno has 175 and Conan was listed at more than 200. I knew there would be more than the talent and and a couple of writers. Are any of the people network staffers (i.e., techs, camera ops, sound people, makeup, wardrobe, etc)?

175-200 staffers is not unreasonable. You have to also think about bookers, studio audience relations, writers, web staff, PR folk, segment producers, craft people, musicians... etc. It adds up quick.

What amazes me with that large of a staff they can't come up with better stuff.

I mean really, I go to YouTube and find videos people make themselves that are much funnier, yeah OK 99% of the videos there are garbage, but no one is getting paid.

I don't understand how people with so little talent manage to cling on to their writing jobs year after year. When you think "I Love Lucy," was written by four writers doing 39 episodes a year and OK a lot of the first 3 years were recycled line by line from the radio show "My Favourite Husband" but that was written by TWO writers and they were part of the four that worked on ILL.

When I listen to OTR I am amazed that those were written by so few people. And it's harder to write for radio in someways, 'cause you can't just fall back on cheap jokes.
