I have read that "2 Live Stews" is being picked up by Radio One's new talk format.
Birmingham and Cleveland are going to carry them...which other markets are going to have this show?

They are announcing a city or two a day on the show leading up to next Monday's start of the national show. Yesterday they mentioned D.C. and I believe they have also mentioned Detroit....

Anybody know what stations in these cities will be carrying the new format?

I don't think the format is really ready. My understanding is they are starting off with the Stews. Big League (the owners of the Stew's home station in Atlanta) has an AM in St. Louis that does nothing except simulcast Sporting News Radio (1190 AM). Seems like a fit for the Stews national show.

Oh. I had heard that they had some other hosts (Jesse Jackson?)

The public outcry over taking off the mighty Tim Brando would be overwhelming! (j/k, lol). Yeah I think that would be fine.

Close. The Rev. Al Sharpton and Michael Eric Dyson are the other two hosts Radio One's signed up. Jesse's doing a weekend show for Premiere that airs mainly on libtalkers.

This network launches Monday, and Orlando and Boston are also cleared for the Stews, et al.

Birmingham's affil (carrying R1's entire urban talk lineup, including the Stews) will be what is now WZZK 1320 AM. Cox Radio has applied for the WPSB calls.<P ID="signature">______________

Are they going to be picked up on sports stations. Any big chance for big time stations WEEI - Boston, KNBR - SF, etc?

The Stews are being syndicated by the Radio One folks as part of an Urban Talk network that includes the Rev. Al Sharpton. You would assume they are being marketed to urban stations as the urban sports show and not being marketed to the sports stations as a sports show. I can't imagine major market sports stations giving up 4p-7p eastern to a live syndicated show.

Re: 2 Live Stews--how many markets? Detroit

I just happened to stumble on the show. Not listening, but they are on the air 1200 WCHB in Detroit.
