2 STATIONS 2 FLIP VERY SOON..

I don't think 107.1 and 99.1 are still simulcasting. 99.1 was still regional Mexican (Accordion and tuba; El Jefe) when I checked in this afternoon, but I'm too ignorant to say what it is 107.1 is doing now; Estrellas Exitos Mejor por Chiquitas? Me no savvy.

With David throwing this hint, it would seem to me Univision is bringing back "Recuerdo" yet again. If two stations are flipping, that would suggest the 99.1/107.1 simulcast is its new home perhaps? Though, I would think 107.9 might be a candidate as it looks like KMVK 107.5 is winning that battle...

Actually, I was being flippant... almost all "new" formats are just old formats with new imaging.

;D

Since I'm not an employee of UVN I would only be guessing on anything else.

???

Well, KDXX 107.1 has broken the simulcast of KFZO 99.1 and indeed is "Recuerdo 107.1" now...

A new old station is several ways, I guess.

It just happen this morning.

Um, I think they flipped 6/22... check the date on my post above.
Now, what is the other station that is supposed to flop flip?

The masses don't care about the mexi flips, unless a grino dies in the equation. Give it 50 more years and the mexi's will be the masses with 1/2 the full market signals.

This has to be one of the most ignorant posts I've seen on R-I.

Knuckles. You drag them!

Give it 50 more years, and all those "mexi's" will speak english and consider themselves Americans. (half a million San Antonians nod in approval)

Yep. In the most generalized terms (and realizing that a generalization is often a stereotype, too) first generation prefers media in their birth tongue "forever" while second generation may lean to English language media or use some of both. Third generation consumes English language media.

An interesting exception is the Tejano culture, where the Spanish language music is passionately liked despite an often total disuse of the Spanish language.

There is plenty of opportunity for Spanish language media looking decades into the future, and there will be growing opportunities for Hispanic media for even longer.
