And I believe exactly two years prior to that day (or close thereof), Mega 933 was launched. It was just a few weeks prior to 9/11. I remember that much. Amazing how the events in weeks leading up to the infamous day are etched in my mind.

Hot 93 has seen its share of success, the likes of which no radio station at that frequency had ever experienced prior. This includes the successful top 40 station B93 in the late 80s-early 90s... which never quite hit #1 in the 12+.
 
I would say a day to definitely remember. The day that probably the best signal in central texas sprouted garbage that continues to this day. What a waste.
