2007 Format changes?

Fairefield County, isn't that where money grows on trees, and where heaven is rumored to move to? :D

And yeah, it's a shame New York is currently missing out on a good Rock format.

BTW, as someone who currently lives in Nashville (moved up here from FL) I'll be the first to admit there's a lot of country artists with amazing voices and good song lyrics. It's just not the type of music format that will likely succeed in NYC. When you think about it, even some of the names of its leading artists sound too, ummm, geeky/wimpy for the "Big Apple". Examples: Montgomery Gentry, Cody MCcarver, Randy Rogers Band, Miranda Lambert, Jason Michael Carrol, Joe Diffie, and do I really need to go on? :p

Just curious.....how does "anyone", aside from surveys and polls actually calculate if there's a "fan base" in any area? It's impossible to go to every home and vehicle to find out what people enjoy and are listening to. We can only perceive what the "fan base" might be. If there is a "missing" musical format, then there is little or no promotion of the product, locally at least. Yet, it always seems that when a popular artist plays a local venue, it sells out and sometimes adds additional shows. Also, sales of recordings (one of the primary reasons for music radio and concerts) always remain good. If a radio station existed to promote this or that format, obviously more fans would surface. For example, if a station such as KTU did not exist locally, would an event such as "Beatstock" jam the GSP like it did last summer? How do we know? I guess it's true that it's all about advertiser "bias" and "perception" and is impossible to be based completely on fact.

And......maybe I just answered my own question.....just wondering. Anyway... Happy Holidays to All!!! :)

Yeah it's something like that. I went $20 bill picking today...

Seriously though, I don't understand why everyone is complaining about a lack of country. I think alternative/rock would be the next step since the demographic for oldies is dying out and country just never seems to work here.

I don't actually think there are many people complaining about a lack of country in New York. Seems to be the same few people over and over and probably not anyone from within the 5 boroughs.
