At 8 AM as I type this on New Year's and to my amazement I woke up from my sleep breifly to still hear Kiss 103-5 STILL mixing!?!?
I could not believe it and thought it was a CD I played on repeat in my sleep (hehe yes I had a few
)
Has this ever been done in Chicago radio before? I know Wild 94-9 in San Francisco always does this sort of mix-a-thon. And I think it has been commercial free since about 7 pm last night. Wild never did the commercial free though.
I guess take that B 96 and Bad Boy Bill. Kiss saw what B 96 did and then they did a counter. The best thing about it I don't think it was ever announced to their audience. The current DJ just came in to do her shift and could not believe it either.
I have not been a fan of Clear Channel radio but this I have to give kudos to... The fans are winning if war has begun.
I guess B 96 it is your turn.... Kiss Beatfreaks did a bold move and I can't believe it. This is awesome. Tune in cause I don't know how long this is for and if it is all New Year's.
2008 must be the year and the return of Chicago CHR war. Before too long Bad Boy Bill may have to be begged to come back on a semi-regular basis. WOW just WOW.
On a side note: Chicago had so many choices for mixes. Lee Michaels should be proud today. Chicago is back to the mix capital of the world! Here is the rundown.
