Here is something that should be interesting....guess no one can predict the future, but we can take a stab at it. What changes do you think will happen in radio across the state in 2009 or the rest of 2008? It's a rather hard time to predict...with the faltering economy and all, but still -
Here are my guesses:
95.9 signs on in Charleston as either some sort of urban, classic hits/oldies or maybe rock, but not as 96wave (IMO)...
His Radio 100.5 (a given)
94.3 WWNQ in Columbia flips. What happens after 12/25 is beyond me.
96.7/Greenville flips...probably some sort of oldies or maybe Rhythmic CHR (like Beat/Charlotte). Yeah, that's a bit far-fetched, but 98.1 is the only CHR/R in the market and the signal starts getting bad around parts of eastern Greenville, not to mention it sounds bad.. The 96.7 signal is nothing to brag about, but it would be enough to make Cox and even Entercom a little nervous if they did that.
