Ok just to get this thread to the top, I'll take a stab at it. I think at least 3 of these 5 happen sometime in 2009.
1. KNDD returns to more of a classic alt playlist.
2. CBS spins the format wheel again on 96.5.
3. Jackie and Bender are replaced by a syndicated show.
4. Andy Savage returns to the airwaves
5, Mike West gets tired of being off air and returns in some capacity to KZOK.

Thanks for getting the ball rolling TUI...I'll agree with the critique of The End...they HAVE to ad... at the minimum... a few "oldies" to be more ratings/advertizer desirable ...WHEN Jackie and Bender are freed...it'll be by a "live and local" show...some "farmed out syndicated" show won't work for CBS Iin Seattle...and I think the odds are very, very long...that Andy Savage will ever crack the mic again. Those are my thoughts...who's got next? Oh...and one more thing...The Mountain HAS TO STOP VOICE-TRACKING NIGHTS AND WEEKENDS.... This is market 13! Act like it!

As has been discussed here already, 2009 is going to be one of the worst years for radio and TV in history. Therefore for the Seattle area, my prediction is:
1. Other than the already announced change for 710AM, no other stations will change formats, but rather will just hang on and keep expenses low.
2. By Q2, Entercom, Fisher and CBS will have more cuts in the neighborhood of 10-20% or more of the workforce at each group. There will be more voice tracking, combined programming duties, reduced traffic staff, and minimal promotions departments, RIF for middays, nights, and weekend air staff.
3. Some independent small stations in the State will go silent due to lack of business. Okay not Seattle, but still will happen.
4. KMPS will continue to dominate the country numbers in Seattle. The Wolf had it's 15 minutes of fame, and will join KNBQ as a country all-so-ran.

Lots of folks thinking alike. Still think WARM, KZOK and Star will perform just fine in the PPm. KMPS, Smooth Jazz and all the AM news and talkers will quietly go away :-\ I am afraid it will also be a year of big cutbacks and automatin. That is the sad part of this thread :'(
