What are some of the current slogans Urban and Urban AC stations in your are are using in 2010? From city to city most stations are still using the same slogans. Some of the most known ones I listed down below.

Im assuming STREETS 101.1 and PRAISE 102 don't come in clear around the city? Im loving the "Static Free Hip-Hop and R&B slogan.
 
Well Streets 101.1 is a new station, although broadcasts at 6,000 watts, the tower is not very tall, so depending on what part of town you're in and where the antenna is in your house and car, you may or may not be able to hear it, and sometimes KJMS V-101.1 from Memphis overpowers Streets 101.1. As for Praise 102.5, it also simulcasts on 101.7, their signals may serve some of the suburbs well, but do not reach Little Rock proper. That's where "#1 for Static-free Hip-Hop and R&B" and "Your Clear Choice for Gospel Hits!" come in. As for Urban AC, we only have 102.1 KOKY, so they don't have to take clever shots at anybody.
 
I will listen to KIPR time to time on the net, and they sound like an alright station in my book. I've noticed that they have a lot of wiggle room these days since KOKY isn't their sister station anymore.

I was doing some traveling over the past week and I've noticed a new trend among mainstream urbans that have no competition in their city. Some are using sort of a secondary moniker (WHHL St. Louis was one of the stations doing this):

Z93 JAMZ in Charleston,SC usues that slogan sometimes too. 99 JAMZ in Miami used it at one point of time too.
 
In LA, KPWR, or Power 106 (Rhythmic), is still using "Where Hip Hop Lives" even though it is playing more Pop and Dance music than it used to. KHHT, or Hot 92.3 (an Urban AC - Rhythmic Oldies hybrid), is using "Old School and R&B". KJLH (Urban AC) is "Radio Free"...a bit vague. I have seen KDAY, which features classic Hip Hop, mostly from the 90's, labeled as Urban, Urban AC and Urban Oldies. I guess it's not clear which of those labels is most accurate. They use the slogan, "Back In The Day Hits".

In Columbia, 100.1 The Beat is still using the standard Clear Channel "Columbia's #1 for Hip-Hop and R&B." Now when it comes to HOT 103.9 I noticed every time HOT 107.9 here in ATL changes a slogan they copy off it. "Blazin 18 In A Row", "Digital Hip-Hop" and now "Hottest Hip-Hop."
 
I think Hot 103.9 would do alot better if they dumped Big Boys (ain't it Top40 anyway), Rickey Smiley is my favorite syndicated Urban morning show. Alot of the Radio One Urbans are dumping Russ Parr (what Hot's competitor 100.1 The Beat has) for Rickey Smiley, seems like a no brainer to me, if u could get a show that is replacing what your competitor has, come on now. That, and the fact that middays and after 9pm and much of weekends is voicetracked. Same with The Big DM, Mel DeVonne, Michael Baisden, Steve Harvey syndicated, Prince Ice and Curtis Wilson voicetracked. They got 2 full time, the PD Chris Connors and MD Lisa Mitchell and Prince Ice all squeezed into middays, 2 hours is too short for a show. But I must admit, they have a great staff who has been very supportive of me, and the Big DM got all Charlotte stations beat without question.

I would assume HOT 103.9 would pick up Rickey Smiley sooner or later. Rickey just replaced Big Boy in Florence and he's been on in Myrtle Beach. Which station is voicetracking middays? Now Big DM has always been the big dog in South Carolina statewide. Even when they were mainstreamn Urban they were bangin. Never understood the 2 hour per jock midday show though.
 
Ant Mac (middays) on Hot 103.9 is voicetracked. Neek is live 2-6pm and and H-Dub is live 6-9pm, his last hour is voicetracked. 10pm-6am is voicetracked on Hot. The midday mix on The Big DM is voicetracked and overnights also. Lisa Mitchell (10am-12pm) and Chris Connors (1pm-3pm) are the only live and local on DM during the week. Barbara Taylor (7pm-12am Fri & Sat) and AJ (Sat 6-10am anybody up at that time? &Sun 12-3pm) and Cynthia (community affairs 6-7pm Sun) are the only live on weekends, rest vt'd. The reason they 2 hours in middays is bc Lisa didn't wanna do the full 5 hours, and she didn't wanna do weekends that's why Vernessa does Saturdays. I know the entire staff at ICBC down there, real good people. Musically, the Big DM is off the chain, and they VERY active in community and I see exactly why their dominance in SC continues to this day. Wow, Ant Mac is my dog! I remember when he was here in ATL, Macon and Charleston. I didn't know he was voicetracking though. Here in ATL, our hip-hop HOT 107.9 has reduced one shift and thats the 2am-5am Sunday late nights through Thursday late nights to all music. However, Rickey and Russ Parr's weekend show is the only syndication since they dumped 106 & Park weekend countdown.
 
I remember when my mom was station at Fort Jackson back from 94-99 and all we listened to was The Big DM, that's the first radio station that I took a tour at and it really made me want to go into radio... I miss Columbia so much good times! I know it is irrelevant but oh well lol
