2010 What would help radio in our area/state

Often some of the best ideas come from peoples sugestions here on the radio forums. With the economy still in very rough shape, down sizing still squeezing out jobs, automation replacing jobs, and corporations trying to make and hang on to every dollar they can what do you think radio can do in this comming decade to survive and grow here in SC and our surounding areas. Any and all ideas or sugestions are welcome no matter who you are or what job you do sometimes the best ideas or sugestions come from the most unexpected places. I would like to hear what you think no matter what it is, you never know what might be of good use.

I dont mean to be a downer, but we should probably forget about the "grow" part and concentrate on what it will take to just survive. Unfortunately, that means more cost-cutting which includes downsizing and consolidation.

I agree growth is probly a pipe dream right now and surviving is the main concern on most everyones minds but any ideas that would help radio survive and maybe grow would be welcome no matter how far out or strange or just normal you never know what might help.

No one seems to want to do that, though. Everyone wants to hold on to what they think they have versus what they could potentially gain, if thet would only take the risk. Audiences can be finicky, yes. But the tried and true won't work anymore. I thought that would be vividly apparent in the era of on demand programming. Take their product where they are. Will it take a bit of investment in time and effort where those resources are already drained? Yes, but not as much as you think. Stream, podcasts, but one again, it comes down to a compelling product in all parts. Functionality, relativity, and don't forget to have fun. The audience knows.
