I don't remember a year with this many Daytime Emmy categories ending up in ties before.

What a crock. Does this mean "Jeopardy!" is now going to start trumpeting itself as "America's Game"? Or is it a mere put-on since both hosts got Lifetime Achievement awards? It's as if Bud Selig directed this whole thing.

The big loser is excellence on TV. No clips with sound for any of the winners. Most clips went by so fast they were meaningless.

And no children's shows.

They wasted so much time on meaningless garbage and sick children that could have been spent actually showing us what made all these people, and shows so great.

One positive note: the entire cast of "World's Funniest Moments" was on it. Christopher and Kyle Massey, then Laura McKenzie. Eventually, Elizabeth Stanton was shown with poor children, and the Massey brothers showed up again. But where was Erik Estrada? Well, he got to be on just before the end with Smile train.

This is the first time in years that I haven't bothered to watch, or even tape the Daytime Emmys.

One question: Did they bother to do any sort of tribute (or even make mention)....of the impending deaths of "All My Children", and "One Life to Live"?

The question is: will the Daytime Emmys have any relevancy in the coming years, as the number of soaps are dwindling? I can see daytime programming competing with nighttime shows in the regular Emmys in the future.

I DVR'd and watched in about 25 minutes. There were a few random comments, but no big retrospective. There was a ridiculously badly executed "surprise" tribute to Susan Lucci with a seemingly high-as-a-kite Shemar Moore. He was the presenter when she finally won the Emmy all those years ago and showed just-plain-awful video mock-ups of her "weddings" to Regis and Dr Phil. The show is basically a sponsored Vegas/Universal Studios infomercial, with some heavy-handed telethon-like PSAs eating up at least 15 minutes.

Last year was also a Vegas infomercial and if there is a program next year, I suspect they will do some type of Agnes Nixon tribute, since OLTL and AMC will be ending their runs during the upcoming season.

Oprah pre-taped her "thank you". Celine sang from her stage in Caesars. Marie Osmond was the main headliner at The Hilton.

The Daytime Emmys is about as relevant as the Miss America Pageant... oh, and the old CableACE Awards.

Given the little attention that was paid to the demise of "Guiding Light" and "As The World Turns," Agnes Nixon will be lucky to get a tribute when her two shows are gone this time next year.

BTW, the Daytime Emmies were on CBS.

I too gave up on the Daytime Emmys, which I watched in progress about 45 minutes in.

With that said...bring on the real Emmys (the Primetime awards)!
