Now that 2010 is coming to an end as of next week. I will give my annual Hudson Valley radio predictions. This is similar to the previous post under "2011 Albany Radio Predictions" thread. What are your predictions for 2011? I'll go first.
-91.7 WFRH - I don't listen to "Family Radio" because of a promotion for "Judgement Day" coming on May 21st will be the Rapture, and October 21st will be the End of the World. This was according to a statement by Harold Camping as read in the bible, I hope WFRH will have big changes in religious format when this happens. I'm not going to pay attention to him. This has happened all the time.
-92.1 WRNQ - Maybe "Lite-FM" should stay.
-92.9 WBPM - I hope this station will morph into a classic rock format to go after WPDH and maybe they should change the call letters to WRKW to make its return to the format that it used to be since it first came on the air back in 1999. If not, why nit go to a "Greatest Hits" format like CBS-FM did. Or maybe put Mark Bolger in mornings and get rid of Dave Lucas. This station is going nowhere in the ratings since it did poorly in the last few years. Will see if the Fall book comes out.
-93.3 WBWZ - No big changes after Bolger left, maybe the format will stay.
-94.3/9.73 WKXP/WZAD - Maybe I don't see any changes in the format, maybe "The Wolf" should stay, but Jeff Hammer is doing very well on the station than CJ did. I hope the Yankees should stay with it.
-96.1 WPKF - I hope "Kiss-FM" should stay.
-96.9 WRRV - No changes
-97.7 WCZX - Maybe it should stay, but no big changes.
-98.1 WKZE - No changes, but it is also on 99.1 because of that translator which can be blocked by WKIP-FM at 99.3. I hope 99.1 goes off the air soon.
-98.5 WCTW - I don't see any changes in the format, but "The Cat" should stay or maybe it goes back to being "Lite-FM". Not happening anytime soon.
-99.3 WKIP-FM - I hope the news/talk format should stay and get rid of the WKZE translator at 99.1. I hope 99.3 will get some listeners after WGHQ dropped it since 2007. I hope maybe Poughkeepsie and Kingston can get listeners to tune in to Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity and Imus.
-100.1 WDST - No changes
-101.5 WPDH - No changes, but it is doing very well as a rock station and it still competing with WBPM, the station is still beating WBPM to the punch. Coop & Maroony are doing okay with their morning with no music in there just some talking, but PDH listeners would get their music in mornings on WBPM, not bad.
-104.7 WSPK "K104" - I hope CHR will stay as well.
-107.3 WRWD - I hope Country will stay as well.
That's all there is to it. Any predictions for 2011?
