Modern Rock has been on 98.7 for eight days now. What are your thoughts? I must say they have the widest playlist in Wilmington or even NC.
Who needs to worry more?
The Bone had better do something very quickly as they are an 70s to 90s based rocker; the only difference is The Bone throws in harder tracks every now and then.
WGNI and WLGD play a bunch of 80s but GNI should be OK.
The Hawk is now the little station getting clobbered by the 100,000 watt giant, enough said about that one.
I can't pick up Rock 105 at home in Wilmington but everyone I talk to that can get Rock in their car tell me 98.7 is a better
I predict either 103.7 or 94.5 will tweak or change formats as this four way station swap has changed the entire radio dial.
99.9 may have to tweak or re-image if something does not happen for them in the next book. In the last Arbitron ratings book they lost half their audience in a year.
104.5 is climbing with each book but I fear it may not be enough for this little AC that is getting smashed by GNI.
97.3 and 101.3 are high preforming staples; they are not going anywhere.
98.3 can only gain with their stronger signal and loyal following.
107.5 will continue to grow strong with the top 40 crowd
As far as Modern Rock 98.7 is concerned; all they have to do is take numbers from any rock station from North Myrtle Beach to Greenville. I do not know how far west 98.7 can be heard.
These are just my thoughts for the year ahead, nothing more.
