2012 Daytime Emmys On... HLN?

HLN is a tabloid not an all-news station. I remember in the 1990's HLN or Headline news was an all-news station that aired in 30 minute cycle for 24 hours straight. Once Glenn Beck and Nancy Grace came to HLN then they became a tabloid network.

At least Glenn Beck was true to analyzing & discussing a part of the primary HLN format at the time he joined the channel - The latest news in politics.

His problem was he later proved himself to be A NUTJOB & Progressive Talkers like Ed Schultz kept calling him on the carpet (And rightfully so) for it on their own radio and/or TV shows (Which is why The Beakster has pretty much self-banished himself to Internet Radio & TV. This way, he can say what he wants short of encouraging a Presidential Assassination & not be held accountable for it because the Internet is unregulated)

That said however - The 2012 Daytime Emmys on HLN

Does Turner plan on flipping HLN to its own version of E! ?? Possible.....

Thoughts?

Cheers ;D

I seem to remember one year when the Daytime Emmys were on The CW...and hardly anyone watched or even cared.

But of course, they pale in comparison to the far glitzier and more star-studded Primetime Emmys (which, since 1995, rotates among Fox, ABC, CBS, and NBC).

This show will be rightfully and truly badly-rated; unless Turner does some heavy-duty promotion or a simulcast on TBS or TNT (which, since they just air reruns during the day, would be absolutely pointless to do for the Daytime Emmys except for another venue to air 24 Men at Work promos), this is going to be the last year. The Saturday night timeslot they'll put it at is the place where old Court TV documentaries go to die, so they'll be lucky to get past 500k. After this, it'll become untelevised like the News Emmys.

Also, since very few cable providers care enough to carry HLN in HD except when they have to in order to get CNN HD, it's going to be in SD for most viewers; that's just another kiss of death.

HLN can be the TMZ Network since Time Warner owns the TMZ.

Or they would merge it back into the prime-time Emmys, like they did prior to 1972 (I think).

Seems likely this will be the last daytime Emmy awards. They should merge with the prime time awards.
With only four soaps it's like those schools where all the kids win awards.

I was disgusted last year with the lack of coverage for game shows and kids' shows.

I thought News Corp. owns TMZ, not Time Warner.

Time Warner does syndicate the TMZ program to all of Fox's O&O's and many Fox affiliates, but as Recto said, Time Warner does own it, while retaining a nominal affiliation with AOL, which founded the site before AOL and Time Warner went their own ways.
