2012 DFW Area Radio Predictions

What are some realistic possibilities that could happen to DFW Radio in 2012?

97.1 getting blown up. 107.5 flipping to CHR with either AMP or NOW branding. And The Ticket getting a signal upgrade to either 93.3 or 570.

Not gonna happen on 93.3. Honestly I really don't see KTCK doing anything signal wise unless they start losing money. So far that is not happening.

do you really think that Russ Marting could go away? I figured he would be killing it again now that is is back to afternoons.

Getting Killed!

I can't see mega staying too much longer either.

Why? Two factors to keep in mind, target demo numbers and Mega's revenue. Does anyone know what their 18-34 numbers look like and how much revenue is Mega bringing to the cluster?

Don't see much changing on the big sticks. Might see some "synergy" amongst the new Cumulus sister-wives whereby Dick Hicks does some reports on Hal's show, etc., but that's about it.

1. The Ticket will take over the 96.7 simulcast and eventually TCU football from WBAP. Yes, Brian Estridge on The Ticket. :D
2. KLIF changes morning show to Mark Davis or Imus.
3. With the desire to have a Hot 40/CHR presence and compete with KISS, they may consider moving i93 to one of their 100k Country signals. Probably KSCS.....I know, I know. Everyone calm down, we're having fun here ;)

And for non Cumulus/Citadel prediction misses:

There will be a major change/flip with at least one of the market's urban stations. Resulting in the return of SMAC to over the radio. But I predicted their return last year and they still on internet. Which is a true shame and insulting.

You Know I'm Actually Surprised Imus isn't on any DFW Station.

I'd think for sure 570, 1160, or 1190 would have tried to get him.

You're a little late on that prediction:

1540AM has been ESPN Deportes for at least a year now (maybe two).
