2012- Major Changes in Local Media. Any Predictions for 2013?

In Rochester the only two I can think of off hand in the electronic media are the hiring of Beth Adams by WXXI and Rich Funke's retirement from WHEC. In the print media it would be laying off or the retirement of some veteran reporters.

So what about your community and what predictions do you have for 2013?

Don't forget about the pending sale of Channel 13 to a subsidiary of Sinclair.

The D&C did a very nice job with their story about Rich Funke's retirement, but I noted the large number of quotes that came from people who were "former" this or "previously" that in terms of careers in broadcasting.

My prediction is that there will be more people added to that "former" roster... yeah, not exactly going out on a limb there. The same can be said for many more industries...
