2013 New York Yankees Radio

Is WCBS-AM 880 still the flagship for New York Yankees Radio? I get them fine here in central Connecticut and have an FM affiliate in Hartford who carried them last year. Just curious. :)

I think that 97.9 will be carrying the games again in the Hartford area once the regular season begins but I have't heard or read any official conformation on that.

Just checked online 97.9's upcoming play by play broadcast schedule and Yankees-Red Sox is listed for Monday April 1 at 12:30 so I guess that means they are carrying the Yankees this season for sure.

Yes. Their sister station is WPOP-AM 1410, a 5,000 watt Hartford station. They carried the Yankees until 2011. About all they carry now are the New Britain Rock Cats (AA-level Minnesota Twins), CCSU college basketball and a few NFL games. As for 97.9 FM, despite their transmitter barely being 10 miles away, across from the XL Center in Hartford, I barely get the station here. Noisy FM stereo at best, unless I find a single "sweet spot" with an antenna wire.
