2013 Ratings FWB/Pensacola

Well, here's something that's taking a big surprise here in the city of boredom, a change in the ratings!

In Ft Walton Beach, Apex's WHWY has reached #1, that's not a surprise compared to Country 105.5, their signal sucks.

#2 - Coast 93.3
#3 - WZZZZNS (wow)
#4 - 99 Rock
#5 - Country 105.5

You can read about it here: http://ratings.****************/cgi-bin/rol.exe/arb391

Over in Pensacola:

101.5 FM charts #1 and #2 is 106.1.. I guess satellite fed programming is what people want

#3 - 94.1 FM
#4 - WCOA-AM
#5 - HMN (Wow!)
Can anyone take a GUESS at what's at #6?? Heres a hint: take #4 and replace it with FM.. WCOA-FM as we all discussed is flat bottom in the numbers.

You can read about Pensacola here: http://ratings.****************/cgi-bin/rol.exe/arb317

Notice how many stations are flat out missing from those lists?
Cumulus would have loved to get 98.1 for country but they can do just fine without it.

Is there any other market in the US where a rocker takes the #1 spot like TK101 did in those Pensacola ratings?

I was shopping for peanut butter at Dollar General in downtown Pensacola yesterday. They had music playing through the PA system so loud that it was hurting my ears. They weren't playing Magic 106.1.... they were playing WDLT! These ratings are useless unless they include all stations with a solid signal in the market.

None that I know of, at least in the south.

I don't find myself listening to TK much, but their HD-2 is some sort of alternative (so to speak) rock feed and it seems to play music I like better. Unfortunately it sounds like transatlantic longwave filtered through Real Audio so it's kind of a pain to actually listen to. Dunno what's up with CC's HD. TK and KSJ both sound like dog squeeze on the -1 and -2's. Really, just purposely awful processing.

Back on subject, I'm really confused about those public ratings for Pensacola. I realize that we don't see non-subscribers, but where's WXBM? It and WMEZ were acquired at the same time by Cumulus, right? They should both be listed. I think if it's in the mix, it's probably the true #1 or #2 in the 12+.

What really catches my eye beyond that, is how far WRRX has fallen - 10.2 / 6.4 / 6.2 / 5.9. Did WDLT really take THAT big a bite out of its little sister station?

The observation about WDLT being heard IN Pensacola makes me wonder if people aren't, for some strange reason, gravitating towards WDLT even though it's like 99% the same as Magic.

These aren't rankings. It's just a list. It's like a college football Top 25 that excludes the SEC. (Sure, Ohio State will start out as the #1 team in the country this year, if you don't include Alabama).

It's a safe guess that WXBM & WBLX still reign in Pensacola. Not sure why MEZ was listed and XBM wasn't--but it wouldn't be the first time a human at Arbitron made a mistake.

The only thing this is good for is checking Fall-to-Fall comparisons for the stations that are listed. Nice bumps for TK and MEZ. Not so much for COA-A & F or the Big 107.3.

But, ultimately, I'm with ThatGuyOnTheRadio: Why now? This shit has been out since January. Did Rob just come out of his coma?

Maybe it's cuz there's no longer a list of ratings on this here website and we have to go search them out someplace else.

Oh, the SEC teams are left out of the ratings because they would take the top 10 spots by default every year. Yankees make those BCS ratings. They're prejudice up there you know.

Can I say "Go Orange"? (Syracuse) How come the ratings are no longer available on this site? That's a bummer.

Yeah, this list is worthless. You wont find the Cumulus/Mobile stations on there because of the embargo on non-subscribing stations. Even after Cumulus and Arb started playing nice, the deal was done too late to include those stations on the public release. WABD was still owned by EMF and LMA'd to Cumulus until just a few weeks ago when that deal finally closed. They probably wont start showing up on public numbers until Mobile/Summer book

Not to mention Coast 93.3 will be announcing something BIG on Monday morning. I hope not a format change I love their 80s weekends. Maybe they will switch 93.3 to 96.5 and put 105.5 to 93.3 to fight 98.1..

Then again, it's probably just a dream..

BLX used to get great numbers in FTW/Destin back in the mid-90s, I think they were fourth or so, after 99Rock, 98-one Classic Rock (promotion time) and then seems like K-92 when it was still country. I seriously questioned trying to go after that market, but was "scared and skirred" cause I wasnt sure the advertisers would accept it. That was back when the world was right and rednecks had their formats right, Poledo. ( best comment from you to date about rednecks recently, made me LMRAO) CCENG - I can't recall seeing BLX making much impact on PC, PCB maybe a little. Not sure that signal carried that far east. I am guessing V-100's signal is strongest down south of town?

Well, here's something that's taking a big surprise here in the city of boredom, a change in the ratings!

Actually we don't know if there is a change in the ratings.

The 25-54 numbers for RRX could be great, and the 18-34 numbers for 107-3 could be good too.

The numbers listed mean nothing. Nothing to see here move on ::)

I've never seen the 25-54 numbers. But a very honest, reliable source told me RRX was solid, there. On the other hand, I have seen the 18-34 numbers for 107.3. There is nothing to be proud of there. Less than 2's across the board.

For kicks and giggles, I was able to dig up the Pensacola 18-34P numbers for Fall '12. Just to show how incomplete a picture the original post paints.

These are by rank. Won't post shares because of TOS, etc.

1)WBLX

2)WTKX

3)WABD -t

3)WYCT -t

5)WRRX

6)WKFP

7)WXBM -t

7)WRKH -t

9)WMEZ

10)WKSJ -t

10)WRGV -t

10)WZNS -t

10)WNCV -t

14)WDLT

... but I listen to WKSM 99Rock and they aren't even on that list.

Does that mean I'm not cool? :(

Someone needs to try to develop the ultimate redneck format and see if it'll catch on.

Hank Williams, Lynard Skynard, P-Ditty Daddy, Almond Brothers, Johnny Cash, Jimmy Buffet, Snoop Doggy Dog, Taylor Swift....

I don't think the FM won't make it till spring (summer) release, the FM is fairly new, probably at the very bottom.

Yes, but WCOA-AM was able to hold on to the #1, #2, or #3 spot well into the FM age. Would be interested to see how bad Cumulus has neutered the old beast.
