2016 Brings Change In The Fort...

OK so the first Monday of 2016 brings changes in the Summit City...
As announced the former WOWO-FM, now again WFWI, is on as Big 92.3 with a classic rock/classic hits mix. And only 2 minutes of commercials per break. Haven't heard much in the way of announcers yet.
98.9 The Bear has changed their daily routine - John The Mexican is now the morning jock, with the Gasman going to midday (again.) Haven't heard any other changes in lineups...
And the change on the Bear means where is that syndicated morning show from Indy?? On 96.3 WXKE. Bob and Tom doing 5 to 10, Doc West stays on after from 10-3, JJ Fabini follows from 3 to 7, and Jason Lee 7 to midnight.
And 103.3 (an HD translator that Adams Radio owns) changes from country to Patriot Radio, which is on 1450 AM as well.
Got all that??

A lot of changes for that size of market! Surprised with the flip of 103.3. Not sure that will increase the ratings for that format.

So far the commentary on social media (Facebook mainly) has been aimed at JJ Fabini of Adams Radio asking why Bob and Tom are on WXKE. Most listeners want long time morning man Doc West back on the AM airwaves. Most people that still listen I would say want them to go back to the 70s AOR format they had...I wouldn't mind it, personally, but hey I get the idea...radio is a business.
Big 92.3 on the other hand...well, they're going big so far. Not much on the online commentary but the playlist is BIG. I've heard everything I can imagine, even a Gordon Lightfoot tune. (No, it wasn't about "the big lake they call the Gitche Gumee.") But with a broad selection like they're running right now and only 2 minutes between songs it's going to turn an ear or two.
And yes it's only a week into the new year but of the changes so far, it's gonna be interesting to see who's still standing come November...
