2017 Tournament of Roses Parade

I tuned in to the Hallmark Channel for their commercial-free coverage (save for some self-promotion). It seems they're simulcasting the KTLA feed. No matter; it's way better than what ABC provides.

RFD-TV and HGTV were also providing coverage of the parade, as well.
 
I recorded NBC and ABC. I'll see them later, at the same time, going between two TVs. It's faster that way. NBC tends to do a better job. ABC shows behind the scenes information, which is fine if you don't mind missing part of the actual parade. Then they have a report about that football game whose teams have floats.
 
KTLA has their edition of the Rose Parade and I know it was syndicated in the past to KTVU San Francisco before Fox turned KTVU and KICU into Fox Owned stations.

Other Tribune Owned stations would use the KTLA edition of the Rose Parade.

KRON in the past also aired the KTLA edition of the parade before.

Hallmark/KTLA was stationed at a different location on the parade route than HGTV.

Commercial free would have been great. I watched NBC and went in the other room to watch ABC during commercials and they rarely had commercials at the same time. Hopefully, I saw everything. ABC is more professional while Al and Hoda are more cutesy but ABC shows a lot less with their behind-the-scenes looks taking the place of many of the less important entries. Only NBC shows those Mexicans on horses that include the guy who spins his lasso every year. In fact, I think only NBC shows horses, period.

I don't think some of the parade is live. They couldn't possibly be in the perfect position all the time to show all the entries the way they do.
