2018 Christmas Music Watch

WOMC will Not Be 100% Christmas this year J.J. said over the air that there will be some Christmas Music but not full time.

Now this is odd. WOMC has been doing all-Christmas for many years, knowing that it was competing with WNIC for holiday listeners. Entercom is now the owner, no longer CBS. But Entercom is keeping Christmas music on another Classic Hits stations, KLUV in Dallas. It discontinued Christmas music on WOGL Philadelphia because Entercom bought AC station WBEB, the longtime Christmas music leader in Philly. No need for two Entercom stations to do all-Christmas music in the same market.

And this year it added Classic Hits KOOL-FM in Phoenix to the all-Christmas list, to challenge longtime Christmas music leader KESZ, owned by iHeart.

Well sorry to say they are just going to as they put it salt and pepper Christmas Music this year.

I suspect they will go all Christmas at some point, despite what JJ may have said. Or Entercom may want to see what ratings they get by just working some into the rotation since the market already has a Christmas leader.
