2022 Television Predictions

Did Leno and Letterman hate using guest hosts or did the networks? Letterman used them after his bypass, reruns are always cheaper, Colbert doesn't do new Friday shows during the summer, which are actually done on Thursday

Leno had only one guest host during his run: Katie Couric; the two swapped hosting positions for one day only in May 2003 (with Jay doing the Today show).

Here's my predictions:

Wendy Williams makes a major announcement saying that the show is getting cancelled due to her health issues.
FYI network goes off the air due to low viewership(despite having a TV contract with Miss USA).
Ryan Seacrest announces that he would step down as host of American Idol after this upcoming season.
Sinclair expands its "The National Desk" brand by launching its own 24 hour digital news network on one of their subchannels similar to Nexstar's "NewsNation", will eventually be called TND.
ESPN/ABC to split Monday Night Football telecasts for the 2022 NFL season. ESPN would air for the first nine weeks, while the remaining half of the MNF schedule will go to ABC.
Either Amazon Prime, Netflix, or HBO Max develops a biopic miniseries about Tyler Perry, detailing on his struggles from his abusive childhood to achieving success in the film industry.
FOX to finally shutter MyNetworkTV.

  • New Warner Bros. Discovery management comes to their senses and realizes that "HBO Max" is a bad name for a broad-appeal streaming service, renames it "The Works" (but keeps the tagline "HBO and So Much More."). Later to be "The Works from Warner Bros. Discovery" after merging with Discovery+.
