Actually, outside of "Late Show," the very first program to air on Fox was "Married With Children," followed by "The Tracey Ullman Show." Both aired between 7-8 PM ET. Then, the hour was rebroadcast again at 8 and 9 PM ET. That was Fox's full first night of prime time on April 5, 1987.

They've come quite a long way since then, haven't they?

So when does Fox start the "celebrating 25 years" fanfare? Or are they giving Joan Rivers a raw deal by insisting her show never existed? :D

My guess is that FOX will simply ignor it. Some years back I had worked at a radio station who had turned 50. I had offered to put together a 50th anniversary for them and despite the fact that among their former staff was country singer, the late great and wonderful Patsy Cline and current WMAR/Baltimore TV personality Jamie Costello..they still said "..oh hell NO".

Not everyone wants to remember the past and I would NOT be surprised that FOX is in the same boat.

I was sitting in a bar where it was on and barely paid it any attention.
Who woulda thunkit?

Sort of a similar situation with a station that I formerly worked for. They turned 50 while I was working for them, but it passed largely unnoticed, even though the station had been a "heritage" station here in Nashville. Part of it was due to short institutional memory of the station's history, since most of the employees were too young to remember its history, anyway, but part of it was also due to the fact that the station now has a different format than it did in the '50s, '60s, and '70s. It has been a Christian talk station since (I think) 1983 or so. (Wonder if they will make any mention of the coming 30th anniversary as a Christian talk station in a couple of years? I'm not counting on it. ::))

However, they still made an acknowledgement (albeit an incorrect one ::)) on some station IDs and liners that they had been on the air "since 1947." It's my understanding that the station came on the air in 1948. Seems that they could have at least gotten the date right. ::)

An episode was filmed in my neighborhood "Hastings" You should have seen the reaction of the girls when they saw Johnny Depp. I wonder whatever became of him? ;D
