24-7 Christmas...someone had to bring this up eventually

when do you think it will start this year and on what station(s)? I think it was the day after election day last year on 'ods and 'ror.

WODS and WROR, or WODS and WMJX? not sure when they will do it.

Yes it was after election day last year. I piece I wrote for the Boston Radio Blog was titled "After Election Day Comes Christmas"

>>Earlier today WROR FM 105.7
shifted to an all-Yule format and WODS FM 103.3 quickly followed suit...Kids
are still munching their Halloween candy but it's now a holly jolly Christmas.

And I was thinking I pay for 2 XM subscriptions that I rarely use now that I'm retired and not in the car 2 hours a day, and I shouldn't renew them when they come up.... but now I know why I spend the money for them, it keeps me sane for the 2 months a year that we are force fed Christmas.

I normally wouldn't care. But with present economic conditions , a post-Halloween flip would be kind of disgusting. Sometime after hump-day, first week of November.

Although XM always pre-empts several channels every year from Thanksgiving through Dec. 26 (sometimes longer) for Christmas music of various genres: traditional pop, contemporary pop, country, classical. If your favorite music channel is one of those chosen, you're probably not exactly overflowing with the Christmas spirit toward XM.

I really don't care - It's bad enough we don't have quality radio in southern RI - since the dimish of early BCN - early BOS. I have to read about 24 hour Christmas music

Hey a friend of mine in the biz said "why not the whole last quarter?" now that would get you some posts on here......lol

I honestly don't think WMJX will do it. They only did it once (2005) and apparently their loyal listeners didn't like it.

As long as WODS does it, then I'm happy. I always love their Christmas Music, tradition of mine to put it onto WODS and hang the decorations.

I remember last year stations started playing Christmas music after Halloween and I thought it was WAY too early.
