2ND QUARTER: IS ADDING SAT. AM CARTOONS ENOUGH "NEW" FOR ME-TV ?

I've seen that Antenna TV is shifting shows around a bit more and the shifts seem to strengthen
their 2Q schedule.

On the other hand Me-TV is only adding a Sat. AM cartoon block (which is probably better than
Green Screen Adventures). I see other holes in their schedule that could use some upgrades.
The 8:30 PM Dick Van Dyke is probably the largest hole. Some of their afternoon western and detective
drama blocks seem to be a bit long also. Let's hope they CHANGE more in the future and don't just
become another RTV with the same 3 year schedule (they once had).

ME-TV has been on here for about six months now, and I have to admit, I'm getting bored. The prime time line (8-10 EDT)up needs to be changed. It all seems to be built around Mary Tyler Moore. MTM at 8, Dick Van Dyke 8:30 -with MTM, Bob Newhart -an MTM production and That Girl 9:30 an much inferior MTM prequel. I would imagine anyone who has had ME available must be very burned out. I don't care for any of the hour dramas except The Untouchables and Wild, Wild, West. Neither have been seen in syndication in recent years.
I did watch some of it last night around basketball. MTM was great, about Lou Grant's surprise birthday party. Just so well done.
Dick Van Dyke is very sophisticated & funny, but (gasp) is in B&W. Maybe it's time to move this line up to an earlier time slot and bring in a more "refreshing" lineup. That Girl, in particular is out of place.

I agree, ME needs to refresh their lineup. They need to bring in some newer shows from the 80's. The old B&W stuff just doesn't cut it for me.

Looking at the shows Wikipedia says Me-TV has access to.......this would change things up a bit.

8PM Gunsmoke (nothing on cable/networks of interest, this could be an alternative)
9PM Newhart (his later series hasn't aired in awhile)
9:30 Caroline In The City (another fun show not seen in forever)
10PM The Streets Of San Francisco (this show has held up very well over the years)
11PM Tales From The Crypt (more current than Alfred Hitchcock)
11:30 Tales From The Crypt

It seems that with every discussion of retro TV channels the topic comes up of the limited number of episodes that are shown, and it's been brought up that in a lot of cases that they are limited to the first few seasons of a series. This has been brought up in discussions of RTV, Antenna TV, Me-TV, and even TV Land at times. Is this caused by the owners of the shows only allowing a limited number of seasons in their deals with the channels, or is it that the channels themselves are only buying the rights to the limited number of episodes when they actually could make deals for more seasons and they don't?

I like Me TV much better than Antenna TV, but it seems like the Me TV lineup could be shuffled a little. I hope they move Dick Van Dyke out of primetime soon. I know there is the MTM connection, but good grief, it's black & white! Maybe a timeslot in the morning would be better. Here in Cleveland, we get a second Dick Van Dyke episode at 10:00 pm since one of the local stations has the rights to Cheers.

Despite Anne Marie's raspy voice, I don't mind watching That Girl. It is a bit lame by today's sitcom standards with the penisless Donald Hollinger, but I find it reasonably entertaining. I had thought Normal Fell played Anne Marie's dad on the show, but I guess I was wrong.

I loved Barney Miller. I wonder if they have access to that show? That would be a good one to add eventually.

As a Chicagoan, and I've said this before, Me-TV used to shuffle their line up quite a bit. They use to do changes every quarter. For the last couple of years, they are basically stuck in the same mode.

I guess they're stuck in the "if it works for us, don't change it" mode of operation.
